Junior High Volleyball Team Wins Williamson Tournament

The Wellsboro Junior High Volleyball team capped their 12-4 season by winning the Williamson Tournament on Saturday.
The young Lady Hornets finished first in pool play by going 8-0. They defeated Athens 2-0 (15-6, 15-12), Towanda 2-0 (15-6, 15-12), Troy 2-0 (15-8, 15-13), and North Penn-Liberty 2-0 (15-10, 15-8) to earn the first seed.
In bracket play, Wellsboro took on Northeast Bradford in the first round and earned a 25-10 win. Against Towanda in the second round, Wellsboro won 2-1. They scored a 15-6 win over the Lady Knights in the first set, lost the 2nd set 17-15, then won the 3rd, 11-3 to advance to the tournament finals.
Wellsboro met up with Athens in the finals, winning 15-10 and 17-15.
