Coaching Bio
Coach Deats is in her second year as Head Coach of the Lady Hornets. Coach Deats is member of Wellsboro's class of 1996, and was a member of the Lady Hornet Volleyball Team throughout high school. Coach Deats then attended Penn State Erie - The Behrend College where she played volleyball and softball. In her senior year, Coach Deats was ranked 19th in the Nation for NCAA Division III volleyball for hitting percentage.
After graduating with a BA in Psychology in 2000 Coach Deats went on to attend Edinboro University and later graduated in 2003 with a Masters of Arts in Secondary Counseling. Coach Deats is currently in her 7th year as guidance counselor at Wellsboro Area High School.
Coach Deats coached the J.V. squad at Wellsboro from 2004-2006 and then was the assistant coach at East Stroudsburg University for a year. In her first season back with the Lady Hornets they posted a 14-6 overall and a 2nd place finish in Districts. Coach Deats is looking forward to many seasons to come.
