Hornet volleyball drops second straight game

The Wellsboro Varsity volleyball team dropped their second straight game of the season after starting out 3-0.

The Hornets fell to Williamson tonight 0-3 after faling from the ranks of the unbeatens over the weekend. Williamson won the matches 25-17, 25-11, and 25-23.

"We didn't show up until the last game," said head coach Sharon Zuchowski.

Senior Mackenzie Marple had 7 points, 14 assists, 15 digs, and 3 blocks. Senior Hannah Zuchowski had 19 kills, 17 digs, and Junior Maggie Smith had 6 points.

In JV action, the Hornets lost in straight games (25-11, 32-30) to record their first loss of the year.

With the loss, the Hornets fall to 3-2 overall (2-1 NTL West). The team will be back in action on Friday, September 21 as they travel to Canton.
