The Wellsboro Volleyball team beat Sayre in 4 sets last night for a non-league win.
The Hornets took the first two sets 25-23 and 25-21. Sayre was able to win the third set 19-25, but the Hornets rebounded in the fourth set 25-17 to claim the match.
Junior Maggie Smith had 18 points, Senior Mackenzie Marple added 13 and 27 assists. Senior Hannah Zuchowski had 32 kills and 19 digs. Junior Kaelyn Keane had 7 kills, while Juniors Alex Kurtz had 15 assists and Katie Straniere had 29 digs.
With the win, the Hornets improve to 14-4 (5-3 NTL West) on the season. The team will be back in action on Saturday, October 20 as they host Northeast Bradford.
