Towanda tops Wellsboro volleyball in 4 games

The Wellsboro Varsity volleyball team dropped a league match to Towanda Thursday, 1-3.

The Lady Hornets lost 25-11, won 23-25, and lost 25-16 and 25-21.

Junior Danielle Mihalik led the team with 11 kills and 24 digs, Senior Alex Kurtz had 13 assists, Senior Katie Straniere had 19 digs, Junior Jordan Butters recorded 9 points and 3 blocks, and Senior Kaelyn Keane had 9 points.

In the J.V. game, the Lady Hornets won 2-0 (25-10, 25-9). Sophomore Mikayla Feil had 5 kills and 1 block and Sophomore Maddy Kyle recorded 14 points.

With the loss, the Lady Hornets fall to 5-6 (1-6 NTL Division 1). The team will be back in action on Monday, October 7 as they travel to Williamson.
