Hornet Volleyball tops CV in three

The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team swept Cowanesque Valley in three games on Monday, September 15.
The Lady Hornets took the first two games 25-22 and won the third 25-11 for the victory.
Senior Peyton Wilson led the team with 12 points, 2 aces, 7 assists, and 11 digs. Junior Darci Warriner recorded 13 digs, 8 points, 2 aces, and 3 kills, and Sophomore Kirsten Florio had 9 points, 2 kills, and 5 digs.
Sophomore Morgan Florio scored 7 points, Junior Mikayla Feil scored 4, and Juniors Maddy Kyle and Haley Zuchowski scored two points each. Feil led the team with 5 kills and also had two solo blocks and 5 assisted blocks.
In the JV game Wellsboro won 2-1 (25-18, 22-25, 15-9) to improve to 4-0.
With the win, the Lady Hornets improve to 3-1 (0-1 NTL Division 1). The team will be back in action on Tuesday, September 16 as they host Northeast Bradford.
