Lady Hornets defeat Wyalusing, 3-2

The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team defeated Wyalusing 3-2 on Tuesday, September 22 to remain undefeated.
Wellsboro won the first set 25-18, Wyalusing won set two 25-22, Wellsboro won the third set 25-19, and Wyalusing won the fourth 25-18 to force a fifth and final set. The Lady Hornets turned up the heat in the final set to win 15-5 and take the match.
Junior Kirsten Florio led the team with 16 kills, senior Mikayla Feil had 9 kills, and senior Darci Warriner had 7. Senior Maddy Kyle had 18 assists and junior Morgan Florio pitched in 15. Senior Haley Zuchowski had 16 points and 3 aces, Feil added 15 points and 3 aces, and Morgan Florio had 11 points.
Senior Hannah Wagaman had 34 digs and Warriner pitched in with 32.
The JV team was also victorious on the night as they won 2-0 (25-8, 25-0). Freshman Hailey Neal led the team with 25 points.
With the win, the Lady Hornets kept their undefeated record in tact, improving to 6-0 (3-0 NTL Division 1). The team will be back in action on Thursday, September 24 as they travel to Towanda.
