The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team rebounded from a loss to Sayre to beat Athens 3-0 on Thursday, October 6.
Wells won 25-12, 25-17, and 25-15 for the sweep. Senior Morgan Florio had 12 kills, 9 points (1 ace), and 9 digs to lead the Lady Hornets on the night. Junior Brianne Keane had 27 assists and 13 points, junior Sydney Tremper recorded 22 digs, junior Hannah Burnett had 6 assists, and senior Kaeli Butters scored 7 points and had 2 aces.
Senior Kirsten Florio had 8 kills and 6 digs and junior Jillian Graver made 6 kills on the evening.
In the JV game, the Lady Hornets won 2-0 (25-18, 25-18) to improve to 16-0.
The win improves the Lady Hornets' record to 10-6. The team will be back in action on Tuesday, October 11 against Wyalusing.
